US First Lady Michelle Obama arrives in Asia to promote Girl Education

US First Lady Michelle Obama flew into Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on Wednesday (March 18) at the beginning of a visit to Japan and Cambodia as part of a U.S. global effort to support education for girls.

She will visit Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan and then the Cambodian city of Siem Reap during the five-day trip.

The initiative aims to reduce the number of girls – 62 million worldwide – who do not attend school, according to the administration.
