A 48 hours Bihar-Jharkhand Bandh has been called by CPI (Maoists) starting May 25 (tomorrow) against the killing of Bihar Jharkhand North Chhattisgarh Special Area Committee member Sarita Ganjhu by Security forces last week.

The bandh will start from today midnight (12:00 AM) and would continue till Wednesday midnight (12:00AM). Essential services like Health, Ambulance have been kept out of the ambit of the bandh.

Sarita was killed in an encounter with Security Forces on May 17. Her death has been an immense loss to Maoists, who have been trying to regain their stronghold in the region.

Only the regions affected by Maoists are likely to be impacted by the Bandh. In Jharkhand, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Ramgarh and Koderma districts would be affected. In Bihar, the districts bordering Jharkhand are likely to be affected.
