New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): India set two Guinness world records on with Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led yoga mass session in New Delhi – one for largest number of participants and another for the most number of nationalities at a single event.

The government applied to the Guinness World Records to record Sunday’s event as the largest gathering of people doing yoga together in the capital.

Modi led tens of thousands of people in a yoga session in the centre of the capital to showcase the country’s signature cultural export.

More than 35,000 people, clad in white, rolled out yoga mats at Rajpath, a ceremonial boulevard in Delhi, to perform 21 aasanas, or postures, that were kicked off by a prayer and chants of Om.

The event made it to the records book for the largest yoga session at a single venue with 35,985 people participating. It also created a new record for the largest number of people of various nationalities – 84, performing yoga at one place.
