East Midnapore, June 24 (ANI): Union Minister for Transport Roadways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari had a narrow escape on Wednesday at Haldia in West Bengal as the blades of his chopper got entangled with the red carpet laid out for him. Gadkari was on his planned visit to Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) of Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) to take forward the Centre’s scheme of shifting domestic cargo from road and railways to coastal and inland waterways mode. Upon Gadkari’s risky landing, BJP leader from East Midnapore, Badshah Alam tried to approach him. On being prevented by policemen from getting too close to Gadkari, he began threatening them.
