Twenty-seven killed in Chad bombings; Boko Haram blamed

New Delhi, June 16 (ANI): At least 27 people in the Chadian capital N’Djamena were killed in a suicide attack that appeared to be retaliation by Nigerian militant group Boko Haram for Chad’s leading role in a regional offensive against it. The attacks, one of which was a suicide bombing, killed at least 27 people, including four suspected Boko Haram fighters. 100 other people were injured. One of the attacks targeted a police station. Chad is a major Western ally and is spearheading missions against al Qaeda-linked groups in Mali and against Boko Haram in Nigeria. Despite threats of retaliation by Boko Haram, N’Djamena had escaped attack… until now.
